High Point Market's fall edition boasts a not-to-be-missed schedule of events with the industry's best and brightest editors and designers. Taking place this fall from October 22-27, attendees will enjoy lectures, programs and parties throughout the week hosted by magazines and manufacturers.
On Saturday, October 22, the Hearst Home Group is hosting an invitation-only party for Veranda, House Beautiful and Elle Decor.
On Sunday, October 23 at 8:30 a.m. Apartment Therapy Editor in Chief and Founder Max Gillingham-Ryan will give a presentation at WithIt's semi-annual Competitive Intelligence seminar. Later that morning, Dwell Studio’s Christiane Lemieux will present "Growing a Business in Today's Digital Age" at International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC). At 2:00 p.m., David Easton will be signing copies of his book Timeless Elegance at Market Square in the Safavieh showroom.
Sunday evening, Architectural Digest will host its annual invitation-only party at JH Adams Inn. On the same night, Hickory Chair will host its 100th anniversary party with top designers Mariette Hines Gomez, Alexa Hampton, Thomas O’Brien and Suzanne Kasler.
The Design Viewpoints Series sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will present a program of seminars and speakers October 23, 24 and 25.
“Is the Price Right?” takes place Sunday, Oct. 23. Determining a price structure that works for you and your clients can be difficult. Then there is the added pressure of ensuring you receive the best product pricing from manufacturers. Led by moderator Deborah Sanders of Veranda magazine, a panel of interior designers and manufacturers will examine pricing issues from all angles.
Interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard will present to editors at the press breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
“Outside Influences on Interior Design” takes place Monday, October 24 and is co-sponsored by WSJ Weekend from the Wall Street Journal. WSJ Magazine Editor in Chief Deborah Needleman will take you on a journey that highlights the top influences on interior design trends, from travel and fashion to food and culture. With an incredible background in design media – including her former post as editor of Domino magazine – Needleman will discuss what’s on the horizon for interior design. The first 100 attendees will receive a FREE copy of Needleman’s new book, The Perfectly Imperfect Home.
“Value-Added Interior Design” takes place at 12pm, Tuesday, October 25. Renowned interior designer and blogger Tobi Fairley knows that a client relationship is an ongoing one and that the job doesn’t stop just because the interior space is complete. From adding new services to continuing client contact, Fairley shows how adding value to your portfolio will bring in new clients, and help you entice former clients for future work.
All seminars are free to interior designers attending Market. No RSVP is required, and lunch will be served on a first-come-first-served basis. The seminars take place at 12:00 p.m. at 100 High in Showplace West and offer up to .3 continuing education units (CEUs).
