The Rug Company, the leading creator of handmade designer rugs, is looking to hire a US PR & Marketing Manager to join their US Marketing team. It is a unique opportunity to work within this dynamic British design company during an exciting period of growth. While the role is based within the marketing department, the job entails working closely with many other areas of the company including the Studio, Production and Sales teams.
Main purpose of the job
Your main purpose will be to support the PR, marketing and digital activities within The Rug Company, helping to increase the profile and reputation of the brand in the US and overseas, driving footfall into the showrooms and online. The role will also involve supporting other marketing activities for the brand. The office is fast paced and demanding, and the role involves a high level of administration, requiring excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm and determination.
- To support the US Head of Marketing run an efficient US press office by liaising promptly and accurately with journalists, driving product placement and profiles, fulfilling image requests and product loans, formatting press releases in Photoshop.
-To manage all other administrative aspects of the press office (logging all requests, scanning and filing and distributing press and online coverage, gate- keeping the US media database).
-To support the US Head of Marketing in every aspect, both within the US and our other overseas showrooms.
-To assist in creating the annual media plan and budget. Oversee all insertion orders, invoicing, and coordinate creative being submitted on time.
-To assist with the events schedule for the year, helping with the planning and execution of events for The Rug Company across the US, small and large scale.
-Developing and implementing The Rug Company’s digital newsletter program, helping to create monthly newsletters.
- Assistance with social media and digital marketing management: researching, scheduling and tracking campaigns
- Interaction and management of brand presence on various digital platforms
- Assist with blogger outreach programs and build an active brand ambassador network to support campaign objectives
- Manage and update press and client contact lists
- Support and assist with the coordination of photography shoots and sample requests
-Bachelor’s degree required
-Agency background preferred
-2-3 years experience minimum
-Strong project management / good organizational skills, ability to work quickly and efficiently
-Creative and independent thinker, with knowledge and interest in interior design
-Deep knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Houzz etc.)
-Knowledge of blogging ecosystem as well as influencers within the luxury, contemporary design and lifestyle realms
-Knowledge of global cultural events in design, fashion, art, etc.
-Excellent communicator and strong verbal and written skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Photoshop
-Good understanding of digital tools and platforms, able to pick up new tools quickly
