Veranda turns the big 3-0
Sep 8, 2017

A tour through Oprah Winfrey’s rose garden is one of the highlights in the September/October issue of Veranda, which celebrates its 30th year with some notable publishing accomplishments: a 13 percent increase in ad revenue and an expanded fine jewelry section among them.

VERANDA
Veranda’s 30th-anniversary edition is on sale now.

Veranda’s graciousness and refinement make it a truly unique shelter and lifestyle magazine, and it’s a privilege to be leading projects where we curate the most beautiful homes and interiors from around the world,” says editor in chief Clinton Smith. “For me, the anniversary provides an opportunity to take stock and focus on the future and new opportunities to give our readers the best of what we have to offer.”

Veranda has done a masterful job understanding its readers and inspiring their dreams through beautiful imagery, engaging stories, and an incomparable passion for great design,” says Hearst Magazines president David Carey. “Celebrating this milestone with the biggest issue in over a decade is an incredible accomplishment.”

The magazine is also touting its Power of Preservation Forums, which launched in San Simeon last year, and have since been held in Charleston and New Orleans, connecting architects and designers to preservation experts and education.

Veranda is experiencing tremendous growth on all platforms: print, digital and experiential,” says Kate Kelly Smith, Hearst Design Group SVP and publishing director. “We continue to expand our footprint in new ways, including never-done-before experiences, a new furniture line which debuts at High Point Market in October, and our ninth Veranda book, to be published next year.”
