Raleigh welcomes its first showhouse
Apr 19, 2017

Earlier this month, the first-ever showhouse launched in Raleigh, North Carolina, produced and built by DJF Builders. All proceeds (including ticket sales and the sale of the home itself) are being donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County.

The DJF Designer Show House featured design talents from the area, including Anne Wagoner Interiors, Betsy Anderson Interiors, Colorful Concepts Interior Design, Lisa Mende Design, MA Allen Interiors, Madcap Cottage, The Very Thing and Katherine Connell Interior Design, among others.

“I have worked with clients who had some participation in Kips Bay the past several years and loved the showhouse ‘world,’” shared showhouse chair Mary Beth De Loache, who produced the event. “When I was presented with the opportunity, I knew I had to do it, but had no idea exactly what I was getting into by producing a showhouse. Dennis Fitzgerald and Chrissy Gupton of DJF Builders had an incredible vision and I simply helped them make it happen.”

“There are so many details you don’t think of, and so many moving parts,” De Loach told EAL. “I never thought of myself as a project manager, but in many ways, I feel like I have found my calling. Having majored in interior design myself in NYC, I have always wanted to be immersed in the ID industry as much as possible. To me, a designer showhouse is the best way. What could be better than working with designers, vendors, sponsors, all while giving back to the local design community and charity?”
