HBF once again teams up with award-winning designer Barbara Barry to create an extensive new collection of seating and occasional tables. Bringing her prolific design expertise and signature style, Barry’s collection reflects simplicity of line and purity of form; hallmarks of her design aesthetic. “I love working in a modern vernacular, paring down forms to their essential nature while maintaining the warmth and feel of fine furniture,” said Barry. The collection, comprised of four seating groups and five complimentary table series, is the largest offering from Barry in a decade. As always, Barbara pushes us in a new direction; her designs are familiar, yet innovative, and easily specifiable for many different environments.” SKI SEATING & TABLES Embracing the supportive with architectural beauty, Ski represents Barry’s contemporary vision at work, rendered in upholstery and brushed stainless steel. The Ski lounge chair and sofa feature generous proportions, luxurious comfort and a modern sensibility. Like a smooth mogul of snow, the sculptural design has curves in all the right places; intersecting brushed stainless steel legs are evocative of ski poles in motion. A pull-up guest chair replicates the lounge seating. All are complemented by two-tiered end and coffee tables offered in veneer and solid surface options. FINE LINE SEATING & TABLES Defined by a fine line of brushed stainless steel, this sleek architectural grouping features a versatile and timeless grouping of arm and armless lounge seating, coffee and end tables. With a light and airy profile, the lounge chair turns to generous seating that is perfectly balanced on a sled base. The table series effortlessly floats on a line of brushed stainless steel with an expansive wood veneer surface of Maple or Ligno-Grain. LENS TABLES Making elegant use of materials, Lens tables feature strap-work legs of brushed stainless steel holding two shelves on their tangent. The aesthetic flexibility of multiple top and shelf options offers the ability to ‘customize’ the table to fulfill a variety of needs. Lens occasional tables, available with Maple veneer, Ligno-Grain, clear glass or solid surface top options, blend seamlessly with classic upholstered pieces, bringing a refined look to contemporary materials. TRESTLE SEATING & TABLES An artful series with the feel of fine furniture, Trestle marries elegance with function. The lustrous upholstered sofa and lounge chair are held in perfect pitch on a trestle of beautifully tapered and tailored solid Maple. When paired with the crafted wooden Trestle coffee and side table, the series eludes a sense of beautifully proportioned balance. Tables feature a culmination of wood veneered or solid surface tops resting upon solid wooden tapered and rounded legs. WEDGE SEATING Supremely simple and graceful, Wedge features a sofa and lounge chair with a modern low profile. Tight upholstery sits on a plinth of Maple wood which amplifies the low datum line of this contemporary grouping. Wedge recreates a classic aesthetic that values ease and elegance, quality materials and impeccable craftsmanship. WING TABLES Rhythmic stainless steel wing formations support a disc of wood creating a sculptural and generous coffee table. A lighter and taller version forms a graceful end table. Designed with meticulous attention to detail and proportion, the winged metal base accommodates tops available in Maple and Ligno-Grain veneers, back painted glass and solid surface material. Designed with the environment in mind, the entire Barbara Barry 2012 Collection is GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Certified and can contribute to LEED® credits. Additionally, the Barbara Barry Collection for 2012 is level® 1 certified and conforms to the ANSI/BIFMA e3-2011e Furniture Sustainability Standard.
