Hearst’s sixth-annual Designer Visions' opening gala features apartments designed by Matthew Patrick Smyth for ELLE DECOR, David Rockwell for House Beautiful and Antony Todd for VERANDA.
The opening gala is private, by invitation only.
Dering Hall will open an exclusive storefront on January 22 allowing design enthusiasts to purchase furniture, lighting and home accessories found in or inspired by the apartments.
Charity Buzz will host an online auction from January 29 to February 26 featuring Designer Visions-inspired items and experiences. Proceeds will benefit the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
The three residences also served as movie sets for six short films that were made in the completed apartments as part of Designer Visions’ first collaboration with 48 Hour Film Project, an organization whose mission is to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. Two short films were made in each apartment and the six films will be screened at New York’s Angelika Theater on January 29, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., just prior to the gala opening at the Designer Visions residences.
Following the opening, the Designer Visions residences will host a series of exclusive events through winter.
