Turner adds new contributors to House Beautiful’s masthead

Posted on Thursday, January 26, 2012.

House Beautiful Editor in Chief Newell Turner has added two new contributors to the magazine’s masthead: Blair Voltz Clarke and Rebecca de Ravenel.

Clarke is a private art dealer who will be contributing ideas and features with a contemporary art focus to the magazine. Her company, Voltz Clarke, introduces international artists to the U.S. market. Clarke's experience combines more than nine years of East Coast gallery associations, curatorial projects and a consulting relationship with Sanford L. Smith & Associates.

De Ravenel is a designer and stylist who will be producing shoots for House Beautiful. She was raised in the Bahamas, educated in Paris, and was formerly an assistant to Oscar de la Renta. Most recently, she practiced interior design with Nassau-based interior designer Amanda Lindroth.

“We’re thrilled to have Blair and Rebecca, two women with incredible talent and style, join our masthead,” said Turner. “House Beautiful's contributors give the magazine eyes and ears into a variety of tastemaking circles. They play important roles in discovering and bringing wonderful stories to the magazine.”

About de Ravenel, Turner adds, “Rebecca is just emerging with her own chic, casual style that's so influential today. Her parents are on the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. She's someone we're going to be hearing a lot of buzz about in both the worlds of design and fashion. We're very excited to have her styling projects for us, bringing interior designers' work to life in photographs."

Regarding Clarke, Turner says, “Blair has an enthusiasm for design and art that is just beginning to make its way into the magazine. Representing a number of emerging artists as a private dealer, Blair has a very unique perspective on and access to interesting interior design projects.”
