Italian luxury brand enters office furniture market

Posted on Wednesday, September 14, 2011.

The Poltrona Frau Group, made up of Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Cappellini, announces its entree into the North America office furniture market through a strategic alliance with Haworth, Inc.

The Poltrona Frau Group's previous collaborations have included iconic designers and architects such as Jean Marie Massaud and Andrée Putman for Poltrona Frau; Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Franco Albini, and Gio Ponti for Cassina; and Jasper Morrison, Tom Dixon, Marc Newson, Todd Bracher and Nendo for Cappellini.

"This strategy supports and completes our plan to expand in the residential segment in the US  market, in which both us and our selected partners have invested, and strengthens our presence in the United States by increasing our Group’s brand awareness," said Dario Rinero, CEO of Poltrona Frau Group. “Haworth is the ideal partner for developing our office channel in the United States. We are confident that this alliance, along with our plan to expand in the residential segment and our new stores, will give the Group double-digit growth in this market in the next coming years and increase its market share.”

“This important agreement is the beginning of a strategic partnership between Haworth and Poltrona Frau Group, a leader in the high-end furniture sector. This will allow us to synergistically complete our office portfolio with the finest, beautifully designed, made in Italy products,” said Franco Bianchi, president and CEO of Haworth.

Family-owned and privately held, Haworth is headquartered in Holland, Michigan and serves markets in more than 120 countries through a global network of 600 dealers. The company had net sales of US $1.21 billion in 2010.
